2005-08-17 [Nightshadow]: Everyone takes their own approach to art, Linn. :/ I was entirely self-taught until a year or so ago--and probably too conceited about the fact for my own good--and have since learned a few exceedingly useful tricks, mostly in seeing things in subjects I may never have noticed otherswise. Being exposed and, yes, even forced into a wide variety of techniques logically expands horizons on anything, and higher ed is one way--and probably the quickest, most practical way--to get that wide exposure.

2005-08-17 [Nightshadow]: Meh...it's the occasional gem amidst all the repitition that's nice. Actually, I learned more useful techniques from Art History than the low-level composition classes, though they did allow me to put stuff in words I already knew. ^^

2005-08-17 [moira hawthorne]: also Linn.. the school you've been to cant have been very good... you are only 17... thats not college... I went to a world renown school.. at the time I was in illustration at Sheridan it was the best in Northamerica for its illustration course... now its tops in computer graghics.. and computer animation... there are crappy art schools at the lower levels as they are in any disapline.
